The foreign trade team of Chengding Non-woven participated in the Hong Kong Houseware Fair, which was held from April 20 to 23, 2018.
The 32nd Hong Kong Houseware Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, attracted more than 2,500 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions to showcase the latest household goods and textiles to global buyers. The Hong Kong Houseware Fair is the largest houseware trade show in Asia, with an exhibition area of 45,040 square meters. The last exhibition was the first to divide the theme exhibition area into four different categories of "L.I.F.E." : "Lifestyle", "Interior", "Feast" and "Enrich". In order to further echo these four themes, the exhibition has for the first time cooperated with A+A Design Studio, a well-known Italian design consulting company, to set up four trend display areas. The themes are "Count on Copper", "Own Jungle", "Visual Illusion" and "Bamboology", displaying a wide variety of household products and interior decorations to reveal the design trends for spring/summer 2018.
The exhibition attracted more than 48,000 buyers from 111 countries and regions during the four-day exhibition, a slight increase of about 2% over last year. Mature markets such as Australia and South Korea and emerging markets including mainland China, Brazil, Russia, Malaysia and the Philippines all recorded double percentage growth in the number of buyers. In addition, 128 overseas buyer groups and over 7,100 buyers were arranged to visit the exhibition during the exhibition period, creating more business opportunities for the industry.
In line with the government's efforts to foster a start-up culture in Hong Kong and move towards high value-added production, a "Start-up zone" has been added to the exhibition this year, allowing start-ups to hire booths at lower prices to find buyers and potential partners.
